#DQUSA fuckingodamnsumbitch
Here is the Tommy's Triumph Shop sponsored bike I will be racing at Dirt Quake USA this year. Tommy. aka; Cowboy, aka; Cosmic Cowboy drove the bike out from Kansas so that I can get it "race prepped". First step was to chop off the rigid license plate mount that was aperantly built to do battle with D12 dirt movers. My leg still bares a scab as does Cowboy's. Lets talk about the friend I have Cowboy. I first met him racing the kansas county fair circuit. 1/2 mile flat track heaven. I saw this ragged old triumph sitting outside a cafe with a xr750 seat on it. I hit the brakes, grabbed my camera and swung back around the block. At the race latter that evening I saw this crazy gray beard riding the same bike around the pits in flip flops and downing PBR. Later that evening a older racer lost his life on the track. This led to some consumption of PBR in the pits and the consumating of new friends. The following year After the fair circuit I drove all the way across kansas to hang out at Cowboy's Shop. It was a sebatical of epic proportions. The wisdom and old motorcycles I have recieved from this fellow are more than large. His way of sponsoring me is how ever possible and he is someone I can call while driving across country and he will meet me at a race at the drop of a hat. He has up until reciently lived a lot in a small camper or caravan for you blokeys. He came to pikes peak to help me last year. Last januray he drove out to Denver to perform the marriage ceremony for me and my Cookie. of course he is ordaned. and the man knows how to drink whiskey and "recreate" colorado style. May the moto gods bless him and get us both to portland.

'tis the season
... to purchase a new bike. A bike for racing. I hope to get some tarmac track time on it this year and race the mountain on it next year. It is a 99 SV650, It aint a RC51 but it should be a good match for my wallet and keep me from binning myself on America's mountain. It already has steel brake lines, crash damage, Ohlins shock, and sliders. Paul with the speedtherapy blog has raced his Suzy on the Isle of Man and given me some advice on tuning them. Any other advice on setting them up or anything at all is much welcome.

old film
Out with the old, In with the new. Then, back to the old.
What is it that makes us enjoy old stuff? The beauty in simplicity? The hands on satisfaction of seeing our work materialize instead of processed into some micro chip? Technology is not bad for it allows us more time to be free to enjoy the things we want. But what happens when all we want revolves around a shiny black rectangle screen that seems to manifest stupidity. Knowledge is power after all. We seek power and we seek freedom so maybe we pick up an old film camera and pay a shit ton of money and spend a shit ton of time to use it so that we feel less captivated by technology. "We" being me and the mouse in my pocket. So... What is about old stuff we (us motorcycling, bicycling, reverbed guitar, cuffed pant, film camera toting, hipsterdipsterdodas) enjoy about old stuff? I ask the mouse. It says click, as i post...
