Drag'n pegs and shit'n beds

Finished off the road race season strong at Pikes Peak Int. Raceway. Couple 3rds and a 2nd on the 450 lowrider. Riding the dirt bike 5th pinned with the peg grinding away and my out side leg hooked over the gas tank like a spider monkey on the banking is totally fucking bonkers fun. Got the SV a bit more dialed and I think I took 3rd in points for the season. I did not really shit the bed Fred but it sounded funny.

Here is to Dick Trickle!

Racing is getting your ass licked, nicked, kicked, tricked, and shicked.
What ever you do just try not to get dicked.
Racing is rarely perfect
but for the adrenaline derelict.

I like it.

Gonna find me some dirt road back street

Yesterday on my ride to work the car in front of me swerved and kicked something up. It was bouncing around a bit as I swerved to avoid it and as I passed it I identified what exactly it was. Exactly. It was... a big black rubber dildo complete with big black bouncing balls. I am ready for six days of Kansas county fair 1/2 mile flattrack action. The bikes have new tires. Cowboy's Bonneville has a new mounted oil bag,new old shocks, unstuck clutch, new rear fender and mount, p pad, and solo seat. ...and some fresh hot pink grips. The van is loaded. Baja is ready to load up. The reefer is well hidden. Corn country, here we come.

Happy happy joy joy happy happy joy joy

I have always loved the XR650R. It is the only bike ever made that can smoothly land a 100 foot triple, finish a 1000 miles of Baja silt and turn around and do it again with out eating any valves or shitting out chunks of piston. It can be plated and pass cars on the freeway and does not require rebuilding to maintain reliability. It pulls like a roided draft horse on pcp. It revs like a Vin Diesel Civic on NOS. It handles the tallest of whoops like Dirty Harry's revolver handles grease balls. Anyhoo, I just scored this red plump peach and I plan on seeing what I can make the beast do on some dirt ovals. Enter project Rotax killer.

High plains drifter

Last weekend was my third time having a crack at "course style" road racing or "street bike racing" as I like to call it. I am starting to get the little SV dialed in and even have it almost hanging in draft on the straights with some of the high horsepower super built SV race bikes. Saturday we did a parade lap around High Plains Raceway in honer of Hot Carl. The track was full. His race bikes were rolled out to the start finish line at sunset for some pictures. I was offered to race his triumph next round and I think I will. It was weird being at High Plains and not having Carl there. He was who got me into racing this stuff. What I learned on the hill on the Ronin seemed to help as I got three podiums and had some epic battles with Adam on his super twin. I swapped paint with a few others and made some friends, gained some respect, and had a shit ton of fun. Looking forward to more.

I like to make spectators scatter.

So in one of my practice runs I saw a rock had fallen into the road. Just a basket ball sized rock so I went around it but then I realized I was hauling major ass into a corner that I should of hit the rakes for some time back. I thought for sure I was going right over the fucking guard rail but I got the bitch sideways and made the hay bails earn their keep. I don't think I even touched the guardrail. Maybe just a tap to set my weight back and on the throttle right on out. It was still one of the fastest runs of the day. And it gave me a nice main line shot of adrenaline. Ah the good stuff.
